How to organize your home office
Working from home means you can design and maintain your office anyway you like, but you must be careful because it can also become messy.
Your workplace is very important because it can be a place that helps you maximize your productivity and make you feel serene or the opposite it can be a place of total disorganization.
Working from home is becoming to be a full-time reality for many people and for others a part-time situation. You don´t necessarily need an entire room dedicated to your home office, all you need is a space that is equipped with good lightning, a desk or table, a comfortable chair, and a place to store your work papers, electronic devices, and office supplies.
Here are some tips to help you get everything in order:
1) Designate an official workspace for your home
If you already have a room that´s is designated for an office that´s terrific but if you don´t it´s time to make one, first you must find an available nook in your home.
Once you find it you must evaluate what you really need, in this case the essentials would be your computer/laptop, a desk and a conformable chair. Don´t add items “just because”. You can also add items that you would have in your office daily like a plant, cup of coffee, etc.
2) Start fresh
You need to take away all the things you don´t necessary need and that are just a distraction or taking space. By taking everything off you are giving your desk and yourself a fresh start.
3) Divide workspace from personal space
The ideal would be to have your workspace apart from your personal space like your bed because most people associate their beds as a resting area and if you work in or near the bed, we are tempted to take more breaks or feel like we are in a non-working area.
4) Keep it clean
As the day goes by your work area may get a little messy but the important thing is that when you finish working you clean up your working space, like putting your chargers in order, if you drink coffee pick up your cup, etc. So that when you start again everything is in order.
